During Game 4 of the playoffs, the eighth-seeded Miami Heat pulled off a surprise win over the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks. They secured their win with a score of 119-114. This was largely due to an exceptional performance by Jimmy Butler, who scored a career-high of 56 points. The NBA has confirmed that Butler's achievement places him in fourth place for highest score in a playoff game. Others who achieved the same performance was Michael Jordan (63), Elgin Baylor (61), and Donovan Mitchell (57).

In an impressive performance, Miami Heat's Jimmy Butler set a new franchise playoff record by scoring a whopping 56 points to help his team come from behind and defeat the Bucks. Butler's spectacular run began early in the game as he scored an incredible 20 consecutive points in the first quarter, eventually finishing with 22 points in the period. He then scored an additional 21 points in the final seven minutes of the game, leading Miami to a thrilling victory and giving them a commanding 3-1 series lead.

"For my team, to get this dub, in this way, in this atmosphere, for this city, it’s huge," Butler said.

Apart from his record-breaking feat, Butler also grabbed nine rebounds and shot an efficient 19-for-28 from the field. With the 3-1 lead against the No. 1 seed Bucks. The Heat will now seek to close out the series when they face Milwaukee on Wednesday which will be broadcasted live on NBA TV at 9:30 p.m. ET.

Jimmy Butler's Record Making Performance

Milwaukee Bucks was holding a good 101-89 lead with only six minutes left in the fourth quarter. But the Bucks were unable to maintain their advantage and allowed the Miami Heat to come back in the game. Jimmy Butler is known for his exceptional playoff performances and competitive drive. He was instrumental in leading Miami to victory. In the fourth quarter alone, Butler scored 21 points, making six out of eight shots from the field and eight out of nine free throws. He also scored nine consecutive points during a crucial late-game stretch to give Miami a 114-109 lead. Additionally, in the first quarter, Butler scored an impressive 22 points out of Miami's 28, making nine out of ten shots. Overall, Butler finished the game with 19 out of 28 shots made and a total of nine rebounds.

The Bucks, who were the defending champions and boasted the best record in the 2021 NBA season, now find themselves in a critical position. They need to win three straight games in order to avoid elimination from the playoffs. This feat is a rare one, as only 13 teams in the history of the league have managed to overcome a 3-1 series deficit and gain victory. The most recent example occurred in 2016 when Cleveland won the championship against Golden State after trailing 3-1. Additionally, only five No. 8 seeds have ever managed to upset a no 1 team.
