The Houston Rockets got 15 basketball games in their entrance season as a permit in the year of 1967. The Houston Rockets were granted the first overall pick and selected power forward Elvin Hayes who would lead the team to its first match arrival the season of rookie. The Houston Rockets did not finish a term with a winning record for time period until the 1976 to 1977 when they traded for All Star center Moses Malone. Houston Rockets would lose in six games to the Boston Celtics, led by Larry Bird, Robert Parish and future head coach named as Kevin McHale.
